Where Our Students learn to be…

Mathematicians

By using hands on activities, multiple senses, and constructing understanding for themselves; not just memorizing the “right” answer or regurgitating someone else’s meaning. Children can therefore make their own discoveries and relate them to real-life activities.

Readers

By building an understanding of letters and sounds, the ability to hear and manipulate sounds in words (phonemic awareness), and then moving to syllables (phonics) to “sound out words” rather than memorize words.  When children read by syllables there is no chance of confusing words that are similar or trying to memorize the English language, therefore fluency is achieve swiftly. This is why our children start reading prior to kindergarten.

Explores

By captivating their natural ability to be curious and ask questions. They learn through the multi-sensory of observation, hands-on experiences, expressing their understanding of what they saw occurring, and making connections to their everyday life.

Critical Thinkers

By building thinking skills with the intention to develop organized analytical skills that promote problem solving. They will observe classifications, describe characteristics, distinguish similarities and differences; identify and complete sequences, classifications, and analogies.

Hand Writers

By using multi-sensory techniques, consistent habits for letter formation, and learning to write legibly and fluently automatically. They understand capital/lower-case letters, correct formation without reversals, and size, shape, and position concepts.  They also build and improve fine motor skills, and strategies of top-to-bottom and left-to-right directionality.

Communicators

By increasing their vocabulary through stories, communication, exploring, and answering questions.  Children learn to become great communicators of their feelings, expressing their needs and wants, retelling stories or scenarios, and explaining comprehension of their understanding using full sentences that are grammatically correct.

Artisans

By means of expressing themselves through a variety of mediums using their own intentions and desires.  They also develop with the aid of collaboration projects to express curriculum subjects, such as cultures, science, and social studies.
